The end of sivilisation as SilverJet goes nowhere
14th June 2008

SilverJet started flying between London Luton airport and New York's Newark Liberty airport in January 2007. A second daily scheduled service each way between Luton and Newark commenced in September that year. The airline started flying between Luton and Dubai in November 2007.
Advertised with slogan "Very Sivilised", SilverJet had its own lounge at Luton airport. The airline had started to establish a reputation for good customer service.
Financial problems meant that SilverJet's planes were grounded on 30 May 2008. After a proposed rescue package did not work out, all of SilverJet's staff were made redundant and the company went into liquidation.
